Charlene Marchese is a Regional Instructional
Specialist in Mathematics for Region 9 in New York City.
Part of her responsibilities in this position consist
of providing professional development in mathematics
education to coaches, teachers, assistant prinicpals
and principals. Prior, she has worked as a mathematics
staff developer for various middle schools in New York
City. Charlene began her career as a teacher and taught
middle school in New Jersey for 13 years, both in urban
and surburban school districts. She has presented at
local and national conferences and adjuncts at Bank
Street College of Education in New York City. She is
currently a doctoral candidate in Elementary Education,
specializing in Mathematics Education at Rutgers University.
