Christine Scafidi has facilitated numerous professional development workshops
in New York and New Jersey for teachers of grades Pre-K-5. Christine has presented workshops
focusing on a broad spectrum of topics including Alternative Assessment, Thematic Curriculum Development,
Balanced Literacy, Balanced Mathematics, Constructivism in Math Education, and Chicago Everyday Mathematics.
Most recently as an A.U.S.S.I.E. Math Consultant,Christine has facilitated two week long
Kindergarten Summer Institutes for Region One in Bronx, New York. In December of 2005,
Christine will present two sessions on geometry and fractions in early grades at the Mathematical
Association of Victoria Annual Conference in Melbourne, Australia. Published educational resources to date include two
Portfolio Assessment Kits for Steck-Vaughn Publications which were released in September of 1997.
As a Mathematics Consultant for A.U.S.S.I.E., Dr. Christine Scafidi has facilitated numerous professional development workshops in New York City and New Jersey. Working as an educator over the span of 26 years, she has specialized in Elementary Education, grades pre-kindergarten through grade five, since 1990. During that time Dr. Scafidi presented workshops focusing on a broad spectrum of topics including Alternative Assessment, Thematic Curriculum Development, Balanced Literacy, Balanced Mathematics, Constructivism in Maths Education, and Chicago Everyday Mathematics.
