With 26 years of experience in varied aspects of education, Jennifer Rosenboom has served as an ESE teacher, elementary teacher, middle school reading teacher and high school literacy coach. In addition, five years were spent as a district level administrator in Curriculum and Professional Development. As a staff developer, specific areas of expertise include coordinating the New Teacher Orientation Program, National Trainer for Project C.R.I.S.S., Mathematic Research, adjunct education instructor at a University in Florida ), Content-area Reading Professional Development trainer and numerous facilitation endeavors supporting K-12 teachers. Dr. Rosenboom is co-author of a 2008 Professional Development guide for IRA.
Her focus areas of education include Balanced Literacy, Adolescent Reading, Classroom Management, Technology and Literacy, Differentiated Instruction and multiple facets of Curriculum and Instruction.

Workshop Description for Reading in the Content Area:
Participants will explore research-validated practices that support
adolescent reading success in any content area. Teachers will model and
practice effective reading strategies and instructional practices to
incorporate within secondary content classrooms and explore how these
approaches support student motivation and achievement for adolescent
struggling readers. Together we will explore new paths to engagement in
reading.
