Katrin-Kaja Roomann is a New Jersey State Certified Reading Specialist. As an adjunct Assistant Professor, Ms. Roomann has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in reading and language arts at a NJ university. She has served as a Content Instruction Specialist for Princeton University's Program in Teacher Preparation, where she worked with Princeton students to prepare them for a career in elementary education. She is currently consulting with The Educational Testing Service as a lead scorer for the PRAXIS exams given to new teachers. In addition, she has written a handbook on literacy strategies, developed original ETS assessments, and structured literacy training programs for teachers new to the profession. Ms. Roomann has worked in a NJ School District for 16 years in various capacities. She was a Social Studies Supervisor for the K-5 curriculum, a third grade and fourth grade classroom teacher. She is currently providing staff development workshops on all aspects of balanced literacy that give teachers practical and transferable strategies that can be easily implemented.
