Lisa Lenz Bianchi, has worked as a literacy consultant in grade K-5 classrooms throughout New York City and New Jersey for nine years in both Balanced Literacy and Reading First schools. Prior to earning a Ph. D. in Reading and Writing Instruction at the University of New Hampshire, Lisa was an elementary school teacher and classroom researcher. Her primary interests are in elementary reading and writing workshop and in building bridges between those workshops and the subject areas. She has presented workshops on the reading, writing, and performance of poetry at NCTE.
