Lisa Lenz Bianchi, is a literacy consultant who works with K-6 teachers and
administrators to establish and develop rich, sustainable reading and
writing workshops. In addition to teaching for over ten years in New York
and New Jersey, Lisa studied extensively with Lucy Calkins at Teachers
College, Thomas Newkirk at the University of New Hamsphire and conducted
research with the Manchester Portfolio Research team led by Jane Hansen.
For the past ten years she has worked as a literacy consultant in schools
with at-risk populations throughout the tri-state area. She has presented
at both the National Council of Teachers of English and International
Reading Association conferences. Her articles on teaching writing have
appeared in Language Arts, Reading Teacher, Workshop IV and Workshop V. She
lives in New Jersey with her husband and two sons.
