| Inclusion And Collaborative Teaching |
| Grades: K-12 |
Presented
by: Sabrina Romano
Sabrina Romano has worked as a consultant
teacher, resource room teacher, and collaborative team teacher and
has extensive experience with differentiating instruction for all levels
of exceptional learners.
|
During the workshop, participants will be actively engaged and given opportunities to think
deeply about the six co-teaching models, how to co-plan, co-teach, co-assess, and how to
make the best use of two teachers with different areas of expertise. Additionally, opportunities
to create a Partnership Agreement where the roles and responsibilities are clearly defined
between the general and special education teacher are given.
Creative ways to group students, strategies for anecdotal records in co-taught classrooms, and
creating a collective vision and philosophy around inclusion are also part of the day. The workshop
focuses on practical teacher strategies that can be implemented the next day. Use of audio
and visual clips of best practices are explored. Differentiation techniques to best support
diverse learners within a co-taught classroom will also be shared in this workshop.
