During this all day workshop participants will explore specific research based literacy strategies that will move struggling readers into readers who never want to put down a book. Guided Reading ---- Literacy Support for All Students

What makes Guided Reading help children learn to read? This session will show you step by step how to implement this very successful reading strategy into your classroom. Areas that will be explored are assessment, grouping, lesson formats, how to select material, how to match the material to the individual needs of the students and the all important question, "What do I do with all the other children ?". Extension activities will also be explored for the children once they leave the Guided Reading area how to incorporate theses extension activities into the classroom curriculum.
