Monique Lopez-Paniagua taught 4th grade and Middle School in New York City. She taught in an English Language Learner population. Her classroom was a model for Reading and Writing Workshop for other teachers to visit and learn from. She was a Literacy Coach under Carmen Farina, the former Deputy Chancellor for Teaching in New York City. She worked as a staff developer and faculty with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project for several years, in which she consulted in classrooms across the country. She is currently an Assistant Principal in Queens, NY in a very high English Language Learner population, and she continues to consult in all aspects of the Reading and Writing Workshop.
