Pamela Gray is a Teacher's Teacher for she well understands the educators' need for teacher friendly applications of knowledge synthesized from differentiated instruction, how the brain learns, learning accommodations for gifted and learning fragile students, and common sense. Her workshops are packed with current knowledge, useful exemplars and teacher ready materials based upon her thirty-three years of working with PK to grade 12 teachers. If 'No Child Is To Be Left Behind,' then educators need the help of knowledgeable and practical staff developers who really know what it is like to be in a classroom day after day with a diversity of students. Dr. Gray is such a resource.

Workshop Description

Differentiated Instruction

Today's students come in all different sizes, races, levels of functioning intelligences and learning styles. The challenges of meeting the needs of elementary students with or without pre-school experiences or enriched home environments; or, middle and high school students who are experiencing developmental changes into adulthood and accompanying sensitivities are legendary. Enter the classroom teacher who must know as much about tactful ways to reach his or her students as he or she knows about the subject matter being taught. What learning styles will work best with this group of students? How shall they be grouped for instruction by ability levels without hurting the feelings of challenged learners who can even read the text book. How do we prepare students to pass the mandated state assessments so 'No Child Will Be Left Behind?' This workshop will address adaptations in content, instructional strategies and test preparations that have proven to be effective.
