Elisa Brente-Fair holds an MA in Education from La Salle University. She has worked in the Education ?eld for the past 23 years. Her knowledge of the classroom structure and her unique ability to work with and train teachers has earned her the respect of school districts across the country. Elisa's passion for building a successful curriculum for Second Language Learners and Literacy has resulted in her creating several teacher handbooks including: Using Literature Circles and Readers' Workshop to Enhance Comprehension, Differentiating Teaching Strategies to Strengthen the Literacy Skills, Accelerating the Success of Your Struggling Readers: Tier 1 Intervention Strategies and Content Comprehension of Your ESL Students, High Impact Strategies for Struggling Readers and a written Comprehension: a Professional Development Module. Elisa is currently a National Educational Consultant and facilitates workshops in the areas of Literacy and Second Language Learners helping teachers implement strategies in their classroom. She is known for her ability to model in classrooms the strategies she is helping the teachers implement. Her training's are aligned with the latest research that de?nes professional development as on-going long term support to enhance teacher growth that will lead to student achievement. Elisa has initiated and implemented many successful programs to improve the quality of classroom instruction, such as an Early Reading Intervention Program, Multiage Education model and a curriculum that integrates Science and Social Studies into a Comprehensive Literacy Program. As a result, she has been able to contribute to the adaptation of curriculum for statewide standards. She has guided school districts in the writing of their literacy frameworks.
