Hetal Patel is a lead math coach and academic intervention teacher in Region 9 in New York City. As a math coach, she supports K-5 teachers in their own understanding of mathematics as well as strengthening their teaching of mathematics through deeper planning and questioning. Additionally she has facilitated content-based workshops using the Everyday Math curriculum, taught mini-courses focused on making sense of our number system and has mentored new coaches. This year she is also planning small group instruction based on assessment for students struggling in mathematics.
