Janet Gill
   
Janet Gill, an experienced elementary teacher, is currently the K-5 District Math Specialist for A NJ school district. She participated in training with Carol Ann Tomlinson for Differentiated Instruction and has led the district in that initiative as it relates to math instruction. She created units using differentiated strategies and provided professional development in their delivery.

She has trained in lesson study with Dr. Makoto Yoshida and was part of the team that prepared several public lessons in the content area of mathematics Trained in Responsive Classroom, she incorporates many of those principles into the math setting.

Janet provides professional development for her district. Her workshops are fast moving, hands-on and full of useful ideas you can immediatel implement in your classroom.

Differentiating Instruction in Math

Participants will learn the basic principles of differentiated instruction and the research that supports those principles. A variety of math strategies will be shared which will help meet the needs of diverse learners in the primary math classroom. They will have opportunities to participate in hands on activities that will provide examples of differentiated instruction. Teachers can take these activities right from the workshop to the classroom.
