Judi
Wandres is an educator who began her career as a
classroom teacher and has taught at all educational
levels, including elementary, middle school, high school,
and adult education.
She
served as a director/ of a university teacher- training
program and is currently the director of an academic
summer camp program. She is a national presenter of
teacher in-service workshops.
Judi
has received Best Practice awards in science education
and community development. She is included in "Who's
Who Among America's Teachers, 2000." Judi has
worked in a wide range of settings, across multiple
disciplines, and is always experimenting with new approaches
that make learning more accessible.

This
workshop is designed to give new teachers the tools
and tips they need to keep from being overwhelmed in
their first year. Tried and true teacher tested suggestions

Teaching
History through Literature
Grades 5-9
This
workshop will demonstrate how to teach history without
using the textbook as the main source of information.
Participants will see how using historical fiction and
other forms of literature in thematic units transports
students back in time. Teachers will be introduced to
the use of simulations to make history "real."
Building
Bridges between Math & Science
Grades K-3 and 4-8
Involve
your students in challenging, hands-on, problem-solving
activities. These bridge building activities offer constructive
connections to mathematics, engineering and science.
