Richard M. Cash, Ed.D. was a classroom teacher and curriculum specialist. Nationally, Dr. Cash is a frequent presenter and speaker at state and national educational organizations. He has worked with school districts in West Virginia, Virginia, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Missouri, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Nevada, Washington and California. The focus of his work has been in differentiated instruction, 21st Century Thinking Skills, brain learning and gifted/talented. Dr. Cash holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, MN. He has a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and a Bachelor’s degree in Theater from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.

Today’s classroom has a greater level of academic diversity than every before. Additionally, students will be required to utilize significantly different skills in our rapidly changing world. Making sense and use of quality teaching and learning strategies have proven results in maximizing the learning of all students.

This session will address the many myths of differentiated instruction, provide a solid foundation of the essentials of learning and an overview of how the brain learns. Having these critical tools can assist teachers in the journey toward a differentiated classroom. The presenter will offer several practical “ready-to-use” strategies for teacher to improve student learning.
