Sharon Rawlins
loves reading and sharing her love of books with others. She frequently speaks at NJ conferences about books for children and teens and has done presentations for the New Jersey Library Association (NJLA), the Educational Media Association of New Jersey (EMAnj), The New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) and the Department of Education.
Sharon is a member of the American Library Association’s (ALA) 2009 Margaret A. Edwards Award Committee and has served as a committee member on ALA’s Best Books for Young Adults Committee, is a Past-President of NJ Library Association’s Young Adult Services section, and was one of the Co-Chairs of the 2005 Statewide Summer Reading Program. She serves as a board member of the Children’s Services Section of the New Jersey Library Association and is a founding member of The Garden State Teen Book Award committee. She reviews fantasy for teens for the magazine School Library Journal and has contributed articles to The Continuum Encyclopedia of Young Adult Literature co-edited by Bernice Cullinan, Bonnie Kunzel and Deborah Wooten. She received her MLS from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
