Shelly Klein has been a successful educator for the last 15 years. Her
experience ranges from classroom teacher, staff developer and literacy coach
to school administrator. Both on the front lines as a classroom teacher and
behind the scenes leading staff development, Shelly has touched the lives of
thousands of kindergarten through sixth grade students and teachers in both
urban and suburban schools. Shelly has lectured on Literacy at
Manhattanville College, Rutgers University, and Montclair State University.
She has authored district-wide curricula and has written charter
applications which were accepted at both the city and state levels. Shelly
has conducted turn-key training to district teachers and has designed
"teachers-as-learners" collaborative study groups. Shelly holds a Masters
Degree in Education, is a certified Reading Specialist, and former New
Jersey Governor Teacher of the Year. Shelly is known for her strong success
with teaching teachers through supportive professional development.
