Suzanne Werner has worked in the New York City
school system for 20 years, 15 of those as a classroom
teacher. For the past 5 years, she has been working
with in-service and pre-service teachers in a variety
of ways.
Suzanne currently has five years of experience working
with in-service teachers as a mathematics coach in Community
School District 2, in New York City under the leadership
of Lucy West. In addition, Suzanne is a mentor to some
of the large cadre of coaches newly hired under the
City's reorganization plan, visiting them on-site, as
well as planning and facilitating parts of our regular
bi-weekly coach meetings.
She has extensive experience providing mathematics workshops
for in-service teachers, administrators and parents,
both in New York City and beyond. For the past five
years, she has worked as a workshop facilitator in the
City project at City College of New York, under the
leadership of Cathy Fosnot.
In addition, She is currently an adjunct faculty at
New York University, teaching a content and methods
course to pre-service teachers in the Department of
Teaching and Learning.
