Artie Voigt was a teacher in the New York City Public Schools for 22 years.  He then worked as a staff developer in Brooklyn with Sharon Taberski and attended Lucy Calkin’s “Thursday Group” for eight years.  Artie spent 3 years as a literacy consultant for Di Snowball’s AUSSIE group.  He presented to the middle school section of Ralph Fletcher and Joanne Portaloupi’s Seattle Literacy Conference. Artie presented at the Southern Literacy Conference at the University of Alabama.  He has served as a supervisor of pre-service 7-12 teachers under Randy Boemer at Queens College.  He currently works in a number of Long Island School Districts helping teachers think about reading and writing.
