Dr. Barbara Lee joined the faculty of Kean University in the fall of 2000
after 20 years in the private school/non-profit service provider sector
serving students with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbance.
Having served in the capacity as a director of educational services and
building principal, she continues in a leadership role at an NJ university
as undergraduate program coordinator and primary author of the teacher
preparation program revision initiative mandated by the No Child Left Behind
Act. Dr. Lee's teaching assignments include the introductory field
experience, families, the inclusive classroom, and multicultural diversity.
Dr. Lee frequently consults school districts and for four years served as a
technical consultant for a large, culturally diverse district facilitating
inclusion of students with disabilities at the elementary level. Frequently
requested workshop and in-service topics include: Students with Asperger's
in Inclusive Elementary Classrooms, Differentiated Instruction in Diverse
Classrooms, Behavior Management for Paraprofessionals, Functional Behavior
Assessment & Inclusion Strategies for Educators, and Rubrics in the
Inclusive Classroom. Most recently, Dr. Lee has been providing consultant
services for several school districts on collaborative teaching strategies
for ICS teams and paraprofessionals
