Caron Pinkus is a literacy coach at School of the Future in Manhattan. Prior to working as a staff developer, she taught middle school Humanities in the New York City public school system for seven years. She is currently co-coordinating an intervention program for struggling readers and writers at the middle school and high school level. Caron has also served as a liaison for the Coalition of Essential Schools, and has facilitated several workshops at national CES institutes. She has presented on such topics as differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and incorporating critical thinking into our curricula. She was named “Educator of the Week” in 2002 by Univision.
