Cathy Collins Block

Dr. Cathy Collins Block is a Professor of Education at a University in Texas. She was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Reading Association (2002-2005). She has taught every grade level from preschool to graduate school in Indiana, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas, and the Middle East.
Cathy has written more than 30 books and has written more than 80 research articles for Reading Research Quarterly, The Reading Teacher, Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, and The Elementary School Journal. Cathy has also served as a consultant to more than 300 school districts in the United States, Canada, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Philippines, and Russia. She has also served as the Educational Advisor to several corporations and government agencies including the US Department of Commerce, Wishbone Television Series, Children’s Television Network, Walt Disney, PBS Television Series “Ready for Life and Ready to Read” and IBM.
Cathy speaks and conducts workshops for school districts and IRA around the world.
