Christina E. Lugo Vreeland completed both undergraduate
and graduate programs at Rutgers University. She taught
English to basic skills, standard, and honors students
in grades nine through twelve and also collaborated
on the research for Carol Weinstein's book, Secondary
Classroom Management while teaching. Currently, Vreeland
is a supervisor of language arts (K-12) in a school
district in central New Jersey. In this capacity, she
edits the district's award-winning K-12 writers' magazine,
facilitates the administration and scoring of an annual
writing assessment for students in grades three through
ten, conducts training sessions for grade-level groups
as well as for the district's twenty-four schools, and
writes new curriculum. Currently, her emphasis is on
the development and refinement of genre-based writing
workshop curricula for all grade levels. Vreeland also
facilitates writers' groups for adults in the school
district and at her North Brunswick home.
