Danling Fu, Professor of literacy and language, School of Teaching and Learning, College of Education, University of Florida, Gainesville, is a former ESL teacher, and earned her Ph.D. in Reading and Writing from the University of New Hampshire where she furthered her studies on literacy for English language learners. Since 1995, she has been working and researching in Chinatown schools and communities in San Francisco and New York City. Currently, she works with K-12 teachers in 13 schools from low Manhattan to Bronx, where house large population of new immigrant students. It is a long-term PD project as Literacy Initiative for ELLs funded by Region 9 of New York City Board of Education. |
