Elaine Machtiger was a Math Coach in a New Jersey public school district. She has conducted numerous professional development workshops and provided ongoing support for teachers to promote excellence in math education and to help teachers reflect on their teaching. Elaine is passionate about mathematics and is convinced that everyone can learn to use mathematics in life. Her greatest pleasure is seeing the spark of understanding on a student’s face and hearing the words, “I get it!” with regard to mathematics.
Elaine earned her BA in Math at Cornell University and her Master of Arts in Teaching Math at Wesleyan University. She has a NJ Supervisor’s Certificate, NJ Teacher of Math Certification, and CT Teacher of Math Certification.
