Workshops for teachers:

What's All the Fuss about Fluency?
Go beyond "word calling" to fluent, expression-rich language development. Even when children can recognize many words, their language may still be stilted and expressionless. When they learn to express concepts fluently, their love for words will blossom, and so will their self-esteem. This workshop provides practical "kid-proven" methods to overcome the fuss and fly to fluency.

If you Intend to Comprehend
Reading is only calling words until students understand the meaning of the content. Through this workshop you will learn successful strategies to help students solve the puzzle by putting all the pieces together so they can see the whole picture.

Never say Vocab is Drab
Learn to enhance your vocabulary instruction so that it is exciting and effective. This practical hands-on experience offers educators a myriad of unbeatable ideas to support this somewhat overlooked link leading from phonics to comprehension.

Workshops for school librarians:

Holiday Happenings (K-3)
Are you tired of holiday books you’ve used for years? Are you frustrated by children who say “We read that book in Ms. N’s class”? If you need something fresh and wonderful, then this workshop will cure your ‘ills’.

Do Tell – Folk Tales (K-3)
Old and not so old folk tales provide an avenue for educators to involve their students in the art of story sharing. Witness ways to add audience participation and more to your teaching without adding chaos and confusion. Go back to your children with a sack full of stories and strategies that will provide fun for teacher and child alike.

Getting to Know Me at the Library (K-6)
Blast off with exciting, interest-catching literature that relates to libraries and/or reading. Story session ideas are designed to motivate children to read and love libraries
