Lisa Karlich

Lisa Karlich taught Physics & Pre-calculus for seven years and is currently a science and math instructional coach. She works with fourteen teachers in grades 6 through 12 to write constructivist-based lessons that lead to the development of critical thinking skills. As the lead mentor to the Capital City Secondary School in Washington, D.C., she has provided support in curriculum development, assessment, instructional technique, and organizational practices. Ms. Karlich has presented numerous workshops on instructional practice for CES, the New York State Consortium for Performance Based Assessment, and Brown University. She is a trained Critical Friends Coach from the National School Reform Faculty, has written for Horace, and is featured in Small Schools, Big Ideas: The Essential Guide to Successful School Transformation (Benitez, et. al.). Ms. Karlich has a Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education, as well as a Master of Education in Organization & Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
