Stephanie Parsons

After attending Yale University and Teachers College at Columbia University, Stephanie Parsons became a first grade teacher at P.S. 321 in Brooklyn. An associate of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, she is now a literacy staff developer working with elementary schools in New York City and across the country. Stephanie is a coauthor with Lucy Calkins of Poetry: Powerful Thoughts in Tiny Packages, part of the Units of Study for Primary Writing, from Firsthand. Stephanie is most recently the author of First Grade Writers: Units of Study to Help Children Plan, Organize, and Structure Their Ideas.
